What is Remote Infrastructure Monitoring?

Remote Infrastructure Monitoring — also called NMS Outsourcing (Network Management System outsourcing) — is the practice of continuously tracking the health, performance, and availability of your IT assets using a centralised monitoring platform operated by a specialist NOC team.

Unlike reactive IT support that responds after a failure, our monitoring is predictive and proactive. We identify degrading performance, exhausted resources, and anomalous behaviour before they cause outages — and remediate them without waiting for your users to raise a ticket.

Our ITIL-certified engineers use enterprise-grade monitoring platforms to deliver consistent, measurable service across your entire infrastructure, regardless of size or vendor mix.

What We Monitor

Our monitoring scope covers every layer of your IT environment — from physical hardware to cloud-hosted workloads.

shape shape

Servers & Virtual Machines

Physical and virtual servers across VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Proxmox environments. CPU, RAM, disk utilisation, and process health monitored continuously.

shape shape

Network Devices

Routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers from Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, and HP/Aruba. Interface utilisation, error rates, and link state tracked in real time.

shape shape

Cloud Resources

AWS EC2, Azure VMs, and Google Cloud instances integrated into a single monitoring view. Cloud-native metrics combined with your on-premise infrastructure.

shape shape

Applications & Services

Application availability, response time, and quality monitoring. Web service checks, database performance, and custom application metrics via API integration.

shape shape

Storage & Backup

SAN, NAS, and software-defined storage arrays monitored for capacity, latency, and I/O performance. Backup job success rates tracked and failures alerted immediately.

End-User Devices

Desktop and laptop estate managed via RMM agent — patch status, antivirus health, disk capacity, and hardware health monitored across your entire endpoint fleet.

Monitoring Scope & Metrics

Every monitored asset is covered by a defined set of metrics, thresholds, and escalation rules tailored to your environment.

Category Metrics Monitored Alert Condition
Server / VM (CPU) CPU utilisation, load average, per-core usage Sustained >85% for 5 minutes
Server / VM (Memory) RAM usage, swap utilisation, memory pressure >90% RAM consumed
Disk & Storage Disk usage %, I/O wait, read/write latency >80% capacity or I/O latency >50ms
Network Interfaces Bandwidth utilisation, error rate, packet loss >80% utilisation or >1% error rate
Network Latency RTT, jitter, hop count RTT >50ms or jitter >20ms
Application Availability HTTP/S response code, response time, SSL expiry Non-200 response or response >3s
VMware / Hyper-V VM power state, datastore usage, vCPU ready, host health VM down, datastore >85%, vCPU ready >5%
Backup Jobs Job completion, backup size, duration Job failure or incomplete
Security Events Failed logins, privilege escalation, firewall denies Threshold breaches per defined policy

Thresholds are defined during onboarding and adjusted based on your environment's baseline. All metrics are configurable.

Deployment Options

We connect to your environment using the method that best fits your security policy and network architecture.

Option A

Agent-Based Monitoring

A lightweight monitoring agent is installed on each server or endpoint. The agent collects metrics locally and transmits them securely to our monitoring platform — no inbound firewall rules required.

  • Works without network-level access from our side
  • Supported: Windows Server, Linux (Debian, RHEL, Ubuntu)
  • Deep OS-level metrics including process-level monitoring
  • Ideal for organisations with strict inbound firewall policies
  • Minimal CPU and memory overhead (<1%)
Option B

LAN-to-LAN VPN Tunnel

A site-to-site VPN tunnel connects your network to our monitoring infrastructure. Our platform queries your devices directly using SNMP, WMI, SSH, and API protocols — agentless on the monitored devices.

  • No software to install on individual devices
  • Full SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and WMI support
  • VMware vSphere and Hyper-V API integration
  • Ideal for network devices (switches, routers, firewalls)
  • Compatible with IPsec and SSL VPN configurations

Most clients use a hybrid approach — VPN tunnel for network devices and core infrastructure, agent-based for servers and endpoints.

ITIL-Certified NOC Team

Our monitoring service is operated by an ITIL v4-certified engineering team. Every alert generates a ticket in our ITSM platform. Every ticket has an owner, a priority, a defined response SLA, and a resolution record — giving you a complete audit trail of all infrastructure events.

Tickets are integrated with your own helpdesk or ITSM system (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice, or email-based ticketing) so your team maintains full visibility without logging into a separate portal.

Technology We Work With

Our monitoring is infrastructure-agnostic. We support:

VMware vSphere Microsoft Hyper-V Proxmox VE Cisco IOS / NX-OS Fortinet FortiGate Juniper JunOS HP / Aruba Windows Server RHEL / CentOS Ubuntu / Debian AWS EC2 / RDS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud Microsoft 365 SQL Server MySQL / PostgreSQL

Reporting & Monthly Reviews

Every month, your account manager delivers a comprehensive infrastructure health report covering:

  • Uptime and availability by system
  • Incident volume, categorisation, and resolution time
  • Top-10 alerting systems and root cause summary
  • Capacity trend analysis — disk, CPU, and RAM headroom
  • Patch compliance status
  • SLA performance vs. contracted targets
  • Recommended remediation actions for the next period

Reports are formatted for both technical teams and senior management. Ad-hoc reporting is available on request at no additional charge.

Onboarding in 2–4 Weeks

A dedicated onboarding engineer documents your infrastructure, defines thresholds and escalation paths, deploys monitoring agents or configures the VPN tunnel, and validates alert quality before going live. Most environments reach full operational coverage within two to four weeks.
